Songs of the homeland - Origin III
Who better to sing about the natural beauty of Switzerland than Lucerne soprano Regula Mühlemann? Born and trained in the heart of the Alps, the internationally acclaimed opera star pays homage to the "Songs of the Homeland" with her new program - songs that warm the heart and soul in equal measure and evoke a touch of nostalgia for her homeland. The album, released by Sony Classical, is adorned with an impressive cover somewhere between Heidi and Frida Kahlo. In addition to Schubert's masterpieces for duo and trio, enhanced by magical entries from the clarinet and horn, Mühlemann also sheds new light on unjustly forgotten composers such as Wagner's friend Wilhelm Baumgartner, Fauré's pupil Friedrich Niggli and the harpsichord pioneer Marguerite Roesgen-Champion from Geneva.
