American Dream - Nostalgia III
The SIGNUM Saxophone Quartet's latest album is entitled "Chameleon" - an apt metaphor for the versatility of this extraordinary ensemble. With impressive ease, the four navigate between the great "highways" of the classical repertoire - represented here with American highlights by Dvořák, Gershwin and Bernstein in shimmering gold wind arrangements - and the lesser-known byways. These lead to rarely performed works that were written especially for their instrumentation and which they bring to the stage and studio with great passion.
