Matinée des Jeunes Etoiles IV
Gone are the days when the harp was associated with the velvet-upholstered salons of the 19th century and a delicate female figure. The harp 2.0 has long since established itself in the world of concerts and recordings - supported by a new generation of artists who present the instrument and the sweetly shimmering pearls of the repertoire in all their facets. One of them is the Swiss Tjasha Gafner, who trained between the shores of Lake Geneva and New York's Juilliard School. Her program reflects the versatility of the harp: an inspiring mix of classical masterpieces from the repertoire (Tournier, Renié), modern sounds (Chertok) and her own arrangements of compositions originally written for other instruments - including Bach and Haydn, whose works she skillfully adapts to the tonal elegance of the harp.
