Préludes - Inner Emigration V
Writing preludes and fugues without thinking of Bach and his groundbreaking Well-Tempered Clavier? Hard to imagine! Even Chopin and Shostakovich, who - a century apart - each composed 24 such "pairs", exploring all the keys of the scale, could not escape this legacy. Nevertheless, they succeeded in creating something completely original: two radically different approaches that Yulianna Avdeeva will undoubtedly bring to life with bravura. By the way, did you know that the term "prelude" comes from Latin? "Prae" (before) and "ludere" indicate that the prelude was originally an improvised introduction - a prelude that offered the musician the opportunity to familiarize himself with his instrument while the audience was already in the mood for what was to come.
