CAMERATA BERN - Ohrkan (family concert)
Music from the Baroque to the present day by Merula, Lully, Vivaldi, Schnittke, Britten, Bernstein and Kopatchinskaja.
With "Ohrkan", CAMERATA BERN invites the whole family to experience the string ensemble up close with a very varied program. Ensemble harpsichordist Vital Julian Frey leads through the concert as presenter, involving his colleagues and, last but not least, the young listeners. The focus is on the sensual experience of music.
The focus is also on the question of how the musicians communicate with each other: A unique feature of CAMERATA BERN is that the ensemble plays without a conductor. This is possible because all the musicians listen to each other very attentively and breathe together. They also invite you to join in.
In addition to the CAMERATA BERN family concerts, the Festival of Lights for families takes place on the same day at DOCK8.
CAMERATA BERN will be performing this program in Bernese schools from 21 to 28 November 2025, with the kind support of the Canton of Bern's Department of Cultural Affairs.
