Zurich Oratorio Choir - Magnificat
The Zurich Oratorio Choir invites you to a truly royal concert in the fall of 2025.
program. In addition to the "Coronation Anthems" by
George Frideric Handel also performed the "Magnificat" by the contemporary English composer
composer John Rutter, who has written music for numerous royal occasions
has composed.
George Frideric Handel composed the four "Coronation Anthems" in 1727 for the coronation of George II in Westminster Abbey in London.
The sounds of Rutter's "Magnificat" are no less festive:
The composer himself describes his work as a song of jubilation, as music for a
Feast of joy.
