Martynas Levickis

Accordion music full of sound from Bach to Piazzolla

Charismatic, courageous, humorous and curious, Martynas Levickis gives his accordion brilliant performances with a large repertoire. "The instrument is so versatile. It is popular in so many countries around the world. And now, in the 21st century, it is also being recognized more and more in classical music. And I am proud to be an ambassador for the accordion and to bring it to the big stages," says the Lithuanian. He is still driven by his fascination for the "magic box of tricks". This is what he calls his instrument, which is just as at home in the world of folk music or tango as it is in the world of classical music. Folk compositions of his own, yearning tango tunes by Astor Piazzolla and Richard Galliano and the popular Piano Concerto in D minor by Johann Sebastian Bach demonstrate the virtuosity and joy of playing of this dynamic accordionist.
