Brook × Buchenberg
Transience, farewell, consolation and hope for redemption!
In the current project, the nzük brings „Bachian“ baroque tone paintings and „Buchenbergian“ colorful contemporary sound language into a dialogue.
Human groping for orientation and the oscillation between fear of death and consolation in faith permeate the music of this concert evening. The baroque works reflect a reality of life in which the awareness of one's own transience, which has been moved away today, was an omnipresent reality: «Learned, rich, young or beautiful - all must perish» - this is how the double-choir motet Our life is a shadow by Johann Bach (1604-1673) opens the concert.
Wolfram Buchenberg's (*1962) Vier geistliche Gesänge alternates with Johann Sebastian Bach's (1685-1750) works Kyrie from the Missa brevis in F and the motet Jesu, meine Freude. The latter propagates the gift of freedom, vitality and joy of a life in the spirit of Christ. While Johann Bach's (1604-1673) Aria Weint nicht um meinen Tod provides comfort from the perspective of the departed, Buchenberg's Von 55 Engeln behütet makes it possible to experience the letting go of a loved one as a floating sound. A blessing is sent beckoning on the journey into the unknown...
The nzük is accompanied by Vincenzo Allevato on the organ, and by Roberta Szklenár (soprano), Keiko Enomoto (soprano), Isabel Pfefferkorn (alto), Tamás Henter (tenor) and Serafin Heusser (bass).
