... the end of time

Introductory talk: 6.30 pm
Musical time is not measured time; hours can feel like minutes and vice versa. Messiaen's Quatuor, a key work of modernism, combines this compositional play of time with the metaphysical idea of the abolition of time in the biblical Revelation of John.

How the young generation of composers will react to this work, which is both modern and out of date, is something to be eagerly awaited. The young Dissolution Ensemble is committed to the understanding and dissemination of new music; as its name suggests, a fluid approach to boundaries and conventions is an important part of its musical identity.
