The multi-award-winning opera director and festival director Tobias Richter also has extensive experience in teaching from his time in Düsseldorf as a professor at the Robert Schumann University and has been firmly anchored in the music world for many years.

Following his retirement from the management of Septembre Musical, which he has held since 2004, he will also end his ten-year tenure as Directeur général at the Grand Théâtre de Genève in summer 2019 in order to devote himself to his role in Zurich. Tobias Richter will be the active President of the Géza Anda Foundation and will guarantee continuity as a long-standing member of the Board of Trustees.

His aim is to lead the Concours Géza Anda, founded in 1978 by the widow of the Hungarian-Swiss pianist Géza Anda, Hortense Anda-Bührle, into a new phase with new structures and projects based on the founder's idea. The current Board of Trustees will actively support him in this task. The competition takes place every three years in Zurich. The foundation organizes it and supports the winners.
