Boswil Master Concert - Vincenzo Zitello
The harp - one of the oldest instruments in the world - is usually heard in modern orchestras when the music unfolds in shimmering arcs. However, its repertoire and expressive power extend far beyond these moments. The Italian harpist Vincenzo Zitello has dedicated himself to the traditional styles of the Celtic and Clàrsach harp for decades and has developed his own global style on this basis.
In his program "Harpe Mundi", a fascinating sound panorama between myth and modernity unfolds: a dance-like Siciliana, the legend of the city of Ys that sank into the sea or a Gaelic-inspired raga allow musical traditions from Europe and beyond to merge in an artistic way.
Zitello's music is imbued with lyricism, rhythmic sophistication and meditative depth. An evening full of subtle allusions, poetic power and virtuoso lightness - an invitation to listen and be amazed.
