Pen and Bow 3: Heinrich Heine
Stories and sounds in dialog
In the “Feder und Bogen” series, the musicians of the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, together with actor Thomas Douglas and dramaturg Anina La Roche, create small musical worlds centered on fascinating and inspiring figures from the history of music and literature.
Heinrich Heine was a German poet and writer. Although he devoted himself to literature, his name is inextricably linked to the world of music. This is partly because hardly any other writer’s works have been set to music as often as his. He inspired well over 7,000 compositions—a number that could well set a record.
