GROOVE EXTRAVAGANZA Intercity Jazz Orchestra feat. Anatole Muster
What happens when a young, internationally acclaimed accordionist meets one of Switzerland's most versatile big bands? The Intercity Jazz Orchestra tried it out - and the answer was an evening full of electrifying energy, musical curiosity and pure joy of playing.
Swiss musician Anatole Muster, just 24 years old, has already made a name for himself with his innovative combination of modern jazz, electronic textures and virtuoso accordion playing. Appearances at the Montreux Jazz Autumn of Music, the Rio Montreux Jazz Festival, M4Music and the legendary Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club as well as features on Jamie Cullum's BBC radio show testify to his rapid international development.
In collaboration with the Intercity Jazz Orchestra, a unique sound is created: electronic impulses are transferred into the analog world of the big band, merging with funk and groove elements and unleashing a force that immediately captivates the audience. Most of the pieces were penned by Muster or members of the band - freshly composed or newly arranged for this special encounter.
After their first joint concert, Anatole Muster and the Intercity Jazz Orchestra are now going on tour together. The Südpol can look forward to an evening where chairs seem superfluous and the music goes straight to your legs, heart and head. A concert for all those who want to experience modern jazz, big band power and electronic creativity in a new, lively form.
