Immigrants - Origin IV - Fazıl Say III

The creation of new works is always associated with uniquely touching moments. At the Gstaad Menuhin Festival & Academy, we have already experienced some of these magical moments with Fazıl Say. This year will see another highlight: at the end of his residency series, Fazıl Say will present the world premiere of his latest trio, in which he explores the experience of exile. The commissioned work is juxtaposed with a completely different kind of escape: Schubert's "Trout" attempts to escape the fisherman's hook - a metaphorical warning to young girls about the dangers of their admirers, which Schubert sets to music with an almost cheerful lightness.
