Chamber music concert - At the end of time

The chamber music ensemble Ars Excelsis Camerata performs works that were written under the darkest conditions of the 20th century and that seek to present music as resistance, as prayer, as an expression of indestructible hope. Shostakovich's Piano Trio No. 2, composed in 1944, forms the dramatic center of the evening. Composed under the impact of the war and as a requiem for a close friend, it unfolds a musical panorama between mourning, protest and Jewish dance of death - an outcry against the horror of the Shoah.
