CHAMBER MUSIC WEEK / Damien Bachmann & Christian Chamorel

The program of this concert evening combines established works of chamber music literature with lesser-known compositions beyond the usual repertoire. The focus is on the clarinet, which is presented in various stylistic contexts ranging from core repertoire to rarely performed works.

These include Gerald Finzi's Five Bagatelles, which represent British music of the 20th century with their characteristic lyricism, and Alec Templeton's Pocket-Size Sonata No. 1, which combines classical formal models with elements of jazz. These works are complemented by Carl Maria von Weber's Grand Duo Concertant, which is characterized by its virtuosity and dramatic structure.

The program will also be expanded to include a trio: Johannes Brahms’ Clarinet Trio op. 114 will be performed together with cellist Valentina Dubrovina.
