CHAMBER MUSIC WEEK / LEONIS Piano Trio
The second concert of the Chamber Music Week 2026 presents the Leonis Trio with a program that combines three different sound worlds between classical and late romanticism.
Joseph Haydn's Piano Trio No. 38 in D major, Hob. XV:24 captivates with its elegant lightness, subtle humor and balanced chamber music dialogue.
In contrast, Paul Juon's Piano Trio No. 2 in B minor op. 39 „Caprice“ is played; it is a work of great expressive density that oscillates between late Romantic sonority and Russian-influenced melancholy. Finally, Louise Farrenc's Piano Trio No. 1 in E flat major op. 33 is an impressive example of the compositional mastery of a composer who has long been underestimated and whose music impresses with its structural clarity and tonal intensity.
