Concert for the Christmas season with the Bach Ensemble Lucerne
The Bach Ensemble Lucerne concludes the 2025 annual cycle with Frank Martin's "Cantate pour le temps de Noël" in combination with a popular Bach cantata. Martin's Christmas cantata from 1929/30 was only completed 60 years later and premiered in Lucerne's Jesuit Church in 1994.
Probably one of Bach's most popular cantatas is called "Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben". This is because of the chorale preludes, which are heard twice. This invention is one of the most beautiful things Bach gave us. Who doesn't know this endless melody that should never end? Quite simply a hit!
