Origen's concerts for All Souls' Day

Origen's concerts for All Souls' Day can be heard in the high Knights' Hall of the Bishop's Castle in Chur and are dominated by Italian Baroque music. Antonio Lotti's and Antonio Caldara's impressive Crucifixus settings frame Francesco Durante's moving Requiem in C minor. The score, only recently published in a critical first edition, combines ecclesiastical tradition with operatic and instrumental style to create a powerful sonority. Conductor Clau Scherrer will perform the concerts with the Ensemble Vocal Origen, a small string orchestra and organ.
