Pastorella

When the chalumeau, a reed instrument from the clarinet family, had almost disappeared from the stage of music history, Daniel Schubart wrote in 1784: «Its tone has so much that is interesting, peculiar and infinitely pleasant that the whole scale of musical art would have a noticeable gap if this instrument were to be lost.»
«Pastorella» offers the clarinettists Joan Calabuig Gaspar and Álvaro Iborra Jiménez a pastoral idyll with the rarely heard chalumeau to resurrect this sonority.
At her side as a vocal soloist: the 2024 Bach Prize winner Lara Morger.
