Pierre Certon 1570 - Les Meslanges
Pour sa production annuelle 2025, l'Ensemble La Sestina consacrera un program complet au compositeur Pierre Certon.
Pierre Certon (ca. 1510/1515 - 1572) is, together with Clément Janequin and Claudin de Sermisy, one of the principal representatives of the first generation of composers active in the new French polyphonic chanson of the XVIth century. It was in 1570 that he produced an impressive collection of meslanges, an important chapter in the history of chanson. You will discover a series of légères, mélancoliques and érotiques, without forgetting a chanson à boire ! Pour ce program, l'ensemble sera composé de huit chanteuses et chanteurs se produisant a cappella.
