Say à la carte - Origin I - Fazıl Say I
Every concert by Fazıl Say is absolutely unique and full of surprises. Apart from his impressive technical virtuosity, the outstanding pianist and composer knows how to bring the most hidden facets of music to light. As a long-time friend of the festival, Fazıl Say is already very familiar with the Saanenland. This summer, as Artist in Residence, he has a particularly intense time ahead of him in and around Gstaad - three concerts are scheduled, each with a highly exciting structure, from solo program to duo to quintet. In the first concert of his residency series, the pianist invites you on a fascinating musical journey through time: from Scarlatti's baroque fireworks of sound to Mozart's "most Turkish" of all the piano sonatas of the Viennese Classical period (with the famous "Alla Turca" final movement) and the first, but already stormy flames of Romanticism with Beethoven's "Appassionata".
