Inconspicuous Rebel - Music for the Planet I - Inner Emigration II

For the third time in a row, Patricia Kopatchinskaja presents an uncompromising look at the state of the world in the "Music for the Planet" cycle. The violinist has been an ambassador for "Music for the Planet" since 2023, designing the programs for the concert series. While Kopatchinskaja has increasingly relied on the power of images in the past two years, in 2025 she will focus on the forcefulness of words: in an exciting dialog, poetry and prose by Swiss author Franz Hohler, read (in German) by Meret Matter, will be juxtaposed with two chamber music masterpieces by Dmitri Shostakovich. Shostakovich, who is regarded as a symbol of artistic resistance, developed a sophisticated strategy of "inner emigration" in order to survive the moral pressure of the Soviet regime. Together with her long-time musical companions, cellist Sol Gabetta and pianist Francesco Piemontesi, she gives the works an impressive new sound.
