VocaMe - Magic Mysticism Middle Ages

On May 9, 2026, Sigi Hausen (Syrah) and Michael Popp - known from the independent pop formation Qntal - will be guests at the Old Crematorium Zurich with their classical vocal ensemble VocaMe, creating an evening that will take you into strange, distant worlds of sound.

VocaMe takes the audience on a musical journey through the early Middle Ages. You can hear works by the Byzantine composer Kassia (9th century), the visionary Hildegard von Bingen (12th century) and mystical love poetry by Hadewijch von Brabant (13th century) as well as pieces from the medieval repertoire that make faith, mysticism and old traditions audible.

Clear voices and instruments such as harp, fiddle, ud or Persian dulcimer form a haunting sound that the Bonner Generalanzeiger once described as a „sound for eternity“.

VocaMe has already performed internationally in Copenhagen, Luxembourg, Stockholm, Vancouver and at renowned festivals. As part of the concert, the ensemble will present its latest CD; a supporting program with specials is in preparation.
