Take a look, try it out, listen
On January 27, the Musik-Akademie Basel opens its doors to all interested parties. Young and old are invited to try out their favorite instruments together with the music teachers and ask questions about music lessons. You can visit the Jazzcampus on March 17.
The Basel Music School and the Music School of the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis of the Basel Music Academy will be showing what this traditional yet innovative institution has to offer next Saturday on the campus at Leonhardsstrasse 6: from A for accordion to H for harp or historical dance to V for vibraphone, violin or violoncello: the entire spectrum of classical music instruments, early music instruments and jazz instruments is taught at the Basel Music Academy. There is also a wide range of teaching methods for children, young people and adults. From weekly individual or group lessons, to participation in choirs and orchestras, to courses in special musical areas from early to contemporary music, (almost) everything is possible.
Anyone interested can try out their favorite instruments at the open day, teachers will be on hand to answer questions and advanced students and teachers will give concert performances in the newly renovated large concert hall of the Music Academy. The in-house cafeteria will provide refreshments.
By the way: The open day of the Jazz Music School will take place on March 17 at the Jazzcampus.

The Musik-Akademie Basel is a place of music and music education in Basel. With its 150-year history, it lives and shapes the changes in music and music education.
On the Music Academy campus in Grossbasel and on the Jazz Campus in Kleinbasel, children, young people and adults receive lessons or attend a course on the subject of music: at the Basel or Riehen Music School, at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis Music School, at the Jazz Music School, at the Studio for Music of Cultures or at the Music Academy's Institute for Continuing Education.
