The Gorgier Music Festival celebrates its premiere
From May 28 to June 1, 2026, the Château de Gorgier will host a chamber music festival for the first time. The privately inhabited castle will open its doors for five evenings of concerts.

The Château de Gorgier in the canton of Neuchâtel, a cultural asset of national importance, is not normally open to the public. The newly founded Gorgier Music Festival is the first opportunity for the public to visit the medieval building. The initiator of the festival is violinist Hans Liviabella.

The five concerts each begin at 7 pm. A program entitled «Dédié aux femmes» opens on 28 May with works by English female composers of the post-Victorian era for violin, piano, cello and voice. On May 29, baroque music by Antonio Vivaldi can be heard in the castle chapel on the second floor. On May 30, the evening «C'est juste le temps qui passe» combines music with visual art. Two further concerts will follow on May 31 and June 1.
Most of the concerts take place in the castle's Great Hall, which, according to the organizer, is particularly suitable for chamber music. After each concert evening, guests are served an aperitif dinner.
