And often even then. The composer Gy\u00f6rgy Kurt\u00e1g is a master of musical remembrance. Many of his pieces bear the addition \"in memoriam\". With Kro\u00f3 Gy\u00f6rgy in memoriam, Kurt\u00e1g remembers a renowned Hungarian musicologist. Artistic partner Steven Isserlis in turn commemorates Kurt\u00e1g's 100th birthday with this piece for solo cello.<\/p>\n<p>With Eternal Memory for cello and strings, John Tavener focuses on the eternity of memory, but also that of a future paradise. In contrast, Robert Schumann's Piano Quintet in E flat major is powerful and fully rooted in the here and now. The Hungarian pianist D\u00e9nes V\u00e1rjon can be heard here as well as in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's festively elegant Piano Concerto in C major.
