The Swiss Music Council (SMR)<\/strong> is the umbrella organization for music in Switzerland and represents well over 600,000 active musicians in Switzerland through its member organizations. This makes it the largest and most influential representative of the interests of the entire music sector in Switzerland. In terms of content, the members are grouped into four areas: \"Professionals\", \"Amateurs\", \"Education\/Research\/Science\" and \"Music Industry\/Law\".<\/p>\n

The SMR is committed to improving the cultural and educational policy framework and to creating, communicating, disseminating and preserving music in all its diversity. By promoting this cultural diversity, the Swiss Music Council supports social cohesion in Switzerland.<\/p>\n

He is<\/p>\n

- the political representation of music interests at national level;
\n- the cross-regional information and contact center for the music sector; and
\n- the partner for international music policy exchange.<\/p>\n

In a joint effort with the member organizations, it aims in particular to promote<\/p>\n

- of music creation and the performing musicians;
\n- the variety of musical offerings;
\n- music education for all age groups as well as training and further education; and
\n- research in all aspects of musical life.<\/p>\n
