He retired in 1997, but continued to work as a member of the editorial board and as an editor for the New Schubert Edition.<\/p>\n<p>The Schubertiade \"mourns the loss of a companion who was closely associated with it from the very beginning as a musicological advisor, author of program booklet contributions and participant in panel discussions\".
