In addition to Hanover and Mannheim, the Unesco Cities of Music are Seville, Bologna, Glasgow, Ghent, Bogota, Brazzaville and Hamamatsu.<\/p>\n

Members of the network are so-called centers of excellence in one of seven areas: film, music, design, gastronomy, media art, crafts or literature. They support each other through cooperation and pass on their experience to other creative cities or metropolitan areas, especially in developing countries.<\/p>\n

According to its own characterization, the network supports cities in using their creative potential for urban development. There are no Swiss cities in the network.<\/p>\n

Hanover and Mannheim have been included by Unesco in the Creative Cities network as cities of music. Heidelberg as a city of literature.
