Do you have Fear of flying<\/em>? No worries: a successful take-off into higher spheres, and after a short period of turbulence, a small meal and a temporary air pocket, German guitarist Armin Kulla brings us safely back down to earth. A little journey<\/em> is the title of his collection of ten easy to moderately difficult pieces for three- or four-piece guitar ensemble. The eloquent title of the breezy opening piece is also typical of the other numbers.<\/p>\n

After a New beginning<\/em> we find ourselves in the Middle East, among other things with the attractively arranged, traditional oriental melody Fog El Nakhel.<\/em> The visit to a pulsating, vibrant restaurant is also rhythmically lively. Old town,<\/em> during the Winter in Bethlehem<\/em> comes across as rather worn. \u00dcsk\u00fcdar'a Gider Iken<\/em> (On the way to \u00dcsk\u00fcdar) from Turkey - better known under the title Katibim<\/em> - is the second traditional folk song in the collection. All other pieces were written by Armin Kulla himself.<\/p>\n

The arrangements are versatile, with some technical peculiarities. The role of each guitar within a piece is always clearly defined, although there are also melodies that are spread over several parts. Occasionally, the capo is used in individual parts, so that even high pitches are easy to master. After a colorful guitaristic foray, the composer dismisses players and listeners with a Farewell waltz<\/em> back into everyday life.\"\"<\/p>\n
