While still a student at the Academy of Music in Bucharest from 1979 to 1982 and subsequently at the Academy of Music in Munich from 1982 to 1985, Cristian Vasile won two international competitions: the \u00abMichelangelo Abbado\u00bb International Violin Competition \u00abMichelangelo Abbado\u00bb in Sondrio in 1981 and the \u201cMaria Canals\u201d International Violin Competition in Barcelona in 1984.<\/p>\n
From 1984 to 2000, he was a member of the second violin section of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. Since 2001, he has held the same position with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande.<\/p>\n
