Lectureship in Composition for Film, Theater, and Media (60\u201385 %) with Major Direction (15 %)<\/p>\n
to fill a position in the areas of composition, theory, sound design, and sound engineering in the Department of Music.<\/p>\n
We are seeking a distinguished artist with a master\u2019s degree or equivalent qualification in composition for film, theater, and media, or in a related artistic field. You must have a proven, active artistic practice in composition for film, theater, and media. In addition, you have proven experience in university teaching and either hold a qualification in university pedagogy or are willing to obtain one. Experience in interdisciplinary work and production contexts is required; experience in developing course offerings and curricula is an asset. You are familiar with collaborating with partners from film, theater, media, and other artistic disciplines, as well as with cultural institutions, and you are well-connected within the professional community both nationally and internationally. You are characterized by initiative, the ability to work independently, and strong communication and collaboration skills. You have very good command of German and English.<\/p>\n
As part of this faculty position, you will teach the major in Composition for Film, Theater, and Media at the bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s levels through individual and group instruction; this includes composition, arrangement, and other subject-specific modules. You will mentor students in their artistic projects\u2014including collaborations with film, theater, and media productions both within and outside ZHdK.<\/p>\n
As head of the major (15 %), you will be responsible\u2014in collaboration with the program director\u2014for the development, quality, and profile of the courses offered in the Composition for Film, Theater, and Media (FTM) major at the bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s levels, in the FTM PreCollege program, and in the FTM CAS program. You will provide academic leadership to the staff assigned to the major, ensure the planning, implementation, and evaluation of instruction in accordance with the curriculum, and coordinate courses and class schedules within the FTM academic division. You will mentor and advise students and coordinate examinations\u2014from portfolio reviews and aptitude assessments to specialization-specific module and final exams, including the composition of examination committees. You represent the major in academic matters both internally and externally, and maintain and develop collaboration with other degree programs, departments, and external partners. In addition, you drive the strategic development of the major.<\/p>\n
