Immagine: <a href=\"https:\/\/commons.wikimedia.org\/wiki\/File:Mayer_emilie_schick.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wikimedia commons<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Dopo che negli ultimi anni sono apparse numerose nuove edizioni e registrazioni di sinfonie e musica da camera tratte dalla sua penna, la compositrice Emilie Mayer (1812-1883) probabilmente non \u00e8 pi\u00f9 del tutto sconosciuta. Naturalmente, questo va visto anche come un segno dei tempi: Sebbene il patrimonio musicale fosse gi\u00e0 accessibile al pubblico nel XX secolo nel luogo migliore (Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin), l'interesse \u00e8 rimasto piuttosto basso all'epoca. Oggi, naturalmente, c'\u00e8 un'inutile esuberanza in molti titoli sensazionalistici come \"La donna Beethoven\" (NDR) - o nel sottotitolo della biografia di Barbara Beuys appena pubblicata: \"La pi\u00f9 grande compositrice donna d'Europa\". Che cosa costituisca questa \"grandezza\" \u00e8 oggetto di dibattito: \u00c8 l'ampiezza della sua opera? O \u00e8 il focus del suo lavoro, che si concentra su generi importanti come il quartetto d'archi e la sinfonia? E come classificare queste opere rispetto a quelle di Louise Farrenc?<\/p>\n<p>Barbara Beuys non risponde a queste domande, ma non sono il suo obiettivo. Nella sua \"Ricerca di tracce\", l'autrice racconta la vita di Emilie Mayer e le rappresentazioni delle sue opere con numerosi riferimenti storici e storico-culturali. Questa visione d'insieme \u00e8 forse il punto di forza della presentazione; per quanto riguarda le date e i dettagli, l'autrice si basa principalmente sull'ampia ricerca intrapresa da Almut Runge-Woll per la sua tesi di laurea su questa straordinaria allieva di Loewe, pubblicata nel 2003. Anche se il pubblico a cui si rivolge la presente biografia potrebbe non essere esclusivamente quello degli appassionati di musica, \u00e8 comunque sorprendente che manchi una caratterizzazione rudimentale della produzione compositiva di Emilie Mayer, cos\u00ec come un elenco sommario delle sue opere. D'altra parte, ci sono ridondanze (\"Ehefessel\", pp. 52 e 195), imprecisioni (\"Streichquartett\" invece di Streichquintett, p. 138) e formulazioni talvolta troppo disinvolte: \"Tromboni e strumenti a corda - non c'era qualcosa?\".
