La ruota e il piatto profondo seguirono presto come innovazioni intelligenti. Negli ultimi tempi, tuttavia, si sta diffondendo una diffusa ignoranza della convivenza sociale, della fame ancora incontrastata nel mondo e dei cambiamenti climatici ormai evidenti, unita a dubbi socialmente accettabili sulla scienza. \u00c8 grazie a Epimeteo, fratello di Prometeo, il cui nome significa \"colui che pensa dopo\", che questo \u00e8 potuto accadere. Tra l'altro, ha sposato la bella Pandora - quella con il vaso di tutti i mali...<\/p>\n<p>Ludwig van Beethoven racconta una storia un po' diversa nella sua musica per balletto <em>Le creature di Prometeo <\/em>op. 43, una composizione commissionata per il maestro di balletto italiano Salvatore Vigan\u00f2 (1769-1821), che lavor\u00f2 a Vienna tra il 1799 e il 1803 e divenne direttore del balletto alla Scala di Milano nel 1811. Non sono sopravvissuti n\u00e9 uno scenario n\u00e9 la coreografia originale. Tuttavia, dalla locandina \u00e8 possibile ricostruire le vicende mitiche musicate in un'introduzione e in 16 numeri musicali: Nella lettura di Beethoven, Prometeo infonde la vita a due statue umane di argilla con la fiamma del cielo, ma non riesce a risvegliare la loro ragione. Dopo che una voce pi\u00f9 alta gli impedisce di distruggere la sua opera, conduce le creature sul monte Parnaso, dove Apollo non solo dona loro ragione e sentimento, ma anche il senso della natura e dell'arte.<\/p>\n<p>Sebbene l'intero balletto abbia riscosso un notevole successo con 29 rappresentazioni, non ha trovato un'eco duratura tra i contemporanei. Nel <em>Giornale per il mondo elegante<\/em> si diceva sobriamente nel 1801: <em>\"Se il signor van Beethoven sia stato in grado di ottenere ci\u00f2 che un pubblico come questo richiede, data l'unit\u00e0 - per non dire l'uniformit\u00e0 - della trama, lo lascer\u00f2 indeciso. Ma che abbia scritto in maniera troppo dotta e con poca considerazione per la danza per un balletto \u00e8 fuor di dubbio.<\/em> ... <em>Questo inizia con l'ouverture. In qualsiasi grande opera sarebbe al suo posto e non mancherebbe di avere un effetto significativo; qui, invece, \u00e8 al posto sbagliato\".<\/em> In effetti, l'ouverture \u00e8 un movimento quasi sinfonico con un'introduzione lenta e un'ampia sezione di sviluppo.
