Nel 1882, Anton Rubinstein lo port\u00f2 in tourn\u00e9e in Russia e Norvegia. Al ricevimento di nozze con la cantante Louise Bourdeau, suon\u00f2 la sonata di C\u00e9sar Franck a lui dedicata e poi si trasfer\u00ec a Bruxelles come professore, dove insegn\u00f2 fino al 1898 (allievi famosi: Gingold, Primrose, Persinger). Durante la Prima guerra mondiale visse a Londra, poi negli Stati Uniti, prima di tornare finalmente a Bruxelles, dove lavor\u00f2 come direttore d'orchestra, pedagogo e direttore di concerti fino alla sua morte.<\/p>\n<p>Per tutta la vita, la composizione fu per lui una fonte di energia e un rifugio. Il suo lascito pi\u00f9 importante sono le sei sonate solistiche op. 27, composte nel 1923. Questo libretto fa luce sulle opere dal 1882 al 1905, scritte nei suoi diversi luoghi di attivit\u00e0. Il libretto mostra il suo stupendo virtuosismo spiritualizzato. Delle otto opere stampate, la <em>Lingua norvegese<\/em> una prima pubblicazione degna di nota. La prefazione di Marie Cornaz (d\/f\/e) racconta l'appassionante storia dei brani. Nelle note dettagliate (d\/e), il violinista giapponese Ray Iwazumi, docente alla Juilliard School e specializzato nella musicologia di Ysa\u00ffe, offre il suo aiuto.
