In questa intervista ci racconta chi era Gottfried Galston e cosa aveva a che fare con Paul Klee.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Florence Weber, chi era Gottfried Galston?<\/strong><br \/>\nGottfried Galston (1879-1950) \u00e8 stato un pianista viennese di origine ebraica che si \u00e8 formato musicalmente in diverse citt\u00e0. Il suo debutto come pianista avvenne all'et\u00e0 di 18 anni, seguito da una lunga carriera come concertista di successo. Galston fu anche attivo come insegnante di pianoforte e incluse le sue opinioni pianistiche e i suoi consigli di esecuzione nel suo libro di studi, che era inteso come un libro di testo per gli studenti.<\/p>\n<p>Galston ha vissuto in diverse citt\u00e0 europee di grande influenza culturale: Vienna, Lipsia, Berlino e Monaco. Questi centri artistici erano luoghi di incontro per scambi musicali, discussioni intellettuali e opinioni artistiche. Il concertista austriaco si trov\u00f2 al centro di tutto questo e fu in grado di costruire una rete di notevoli dimensioni.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qual era il legame tra Galston e Paul Klee?<\/strong><br \/>\nGalston e Paul Klee vivevano vicini a Monaco: Galston e la sua famiglia si trasferirono in Ainmillerstrasse 29 a met\u00e0 gennaio 1919, mentre Lily e Paul Klee vivevano in Ainmillerstrasse 32 con il figlio Felix dall'autunno 1906. I due artisti trascorsero circa due anni e mezzo l'uno accanto all'altro e svilupparono un rapporto di amicizia: Suonavano insieme e discutevano di questioni di natura musicale, artistica e professionale. Questo contatto port\u00f2 Klee ad assumere la paternit\u00e0 della figlia di Galston, Flora Irina, nata il 20 febbraio 1920 (nota anche come Florina-Irene). Klee dipinse diverse opere come regalo per la figlioccia. La serie di dipinti termin\u00f2 quando la bambina mor\u00ec all'et\u00e0 di un anno.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cosa l'ha particolarmente affascinata di questo argomento?<\/strong><br \/>\nGottfried Galston non \u00e8 presente in nessuna delle enciclopedie musicologiche standard, come molti altri personaggi della storia della musica. \u00c8 sorprendente che, nella rete di Galston, vi siano molti musicisti e artisti ancora oggi molto noti: Lily e Paul Klee, Wassily Kandinsky, Alexej von Jawlensky, Arnold Sch\u00f6nberg, Carl Reinecke, Ferruccio Busoni, Anton Rubinstein e Theodor Leschetizky, solo per citarne alcuni. Il fatto che questi legami non siano documentati in modo pi\u00f9 evidente si \u00e8 rivelato per me un colpo di fortuna: ho potuto ricostruire la biografia di Galston dall'anno di nascita, il 1879, fino all'emigrazione negli Stati Uniti nel 1927 e i suoi contatti nella mia tesi di laurea magistrale. - La seconda met\u00e0 della vita di Galston deve ancora essere illuminata.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Come \u00e8 arrivato a questo argomento?<\/strong><br \/>\nPer la mia ricerca su Paul Klee e sulla natura interdisciplinare delle varie arti, ho letto la letteratura presente nell'archivio del Zentrum Paul Klee di Berna. Mi sono imbattuta in Gottfried Galston e nel suo legame con Paul Klee. Nel corso di ulteriori ricerche, anche nell'archivio online della Biblioteca Nazionale Austriaca, ho trovato diverse centinaia di articoli di giornale, pubblicit\u00e0 di concerti e recensioni su Galston e le sue performance. Ci\u00f2 ha permesso di stabilire i luoghi in cui Galston si trovava, le tourn\u00e9e dei concerti e le connessioni con altri musicisti e artisti, e sono riuscita ad avvicinarmi a una biografia dettagliata di Galston.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Si sa poco del pianista Gottfried Galston.
