Foto: zVg<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>L'arpista basilese Sarah O'Brien presenta il suo secondo album solista Impromptu. Ha utilizzato la difficile pausa corona per realizzare un desiderio a lungo coltivato. Nella sua costante ricerca di brani originali per arpa, alcuni dei quali giacciono ancora dormienti negli archivi, ha trovato ci\u00f2 che cercava. \u00c8 sorprendente che molti dei brani qui raccolti non siano quasi mai stati ascoltati in sala da concerto. Vale sicuramente la pena di ascoltare questo CD originalmente compilato.<\/p>\n<p>Gli Improvvisi sono perfettamente adatti all'arpa, sono pezzi di carattere, ma hanno anche qualcosa di improvvisativo. Ad esempio, l'Improvviso <em>Improvviso per arpa<\/em> di Joaqu\u00edn Rodrigo (1901-1999), noto soprattutto per il suo concerto per chitarra. Oppure il bellissimo Impromptu di Joseph Guy Marie Ropartz (1864-1955), amico di C\u00e9sar Franck ma poco conosciuto come compositore. Alcuni brani sono ispirati alla famosa arpista italiana Clelia Gatti Aldrovandi (1901-1989). Come Sarah O'Brien, collabor\u00f2 con diversi compositori per creare nuove opere per il suo strumento. Paul Hindemith non fu l'unico a scrivere la sua sonata per arpa in stretta collaborazione con la Gatti Aldrovandi. Anche Nino Rota (1911-1979) e Virgilio Mortari (1902-1993) furono motivati da lei a scrivere composizioni per arpa in cui si rifacevano ad antiche danze come la Sarabande o la Gaillarde.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>\u00c8 facile sentire che queste opere sono state scritte pensando all'arpa. Esse mettono in risalto molte sfaccettature dello strumento senza essere artificiose. Sarah O'Brien sa come assaporarle in modo sofisticato. Nella sonata di Hindemith, ad esempio, le caratteristiche tonali colorate e pacate sono meravigliosamente efficaci.<\/p>\n<p>O'Brien \u00e8 stata arpista principale dell'Orchestra del Concertgebouw di Amsterdam e dell'Orchestra Filarmonica di Monaco di Baviera per oltre 20 anni prima di diventare docente presso le accademie musicali di Zurigo e Basilea. Molti dei suoi studenti hanno vinto premi in concorsi internazionali. Si \u00e8 esibita come solista sotto la guida di Bernhard Haitink, Hans Vock e Hartmut Haenchen, nonch\u00e9 con l'Orchestre de la Suisse Romande sotto la guida di Fabio Luisi e \u00c1rp\u00e1d G\u00e9recz. Si \u00e8 inoltre esibita con l'Orchestra Sinfonica di Basilea e con le orchestre da camera di Basilea e Zurigo.<\/p>\n<p>La loro ricca esperienza artistica \u00e8 evidente non solo nelle qualit\u00e0 interpretative di questa nuova registrazione in CD, ma anche nella composizione drammaturgica dei brani. \u00c8 ricca di contrasti e variet\u00e0. O'Brien ha arrangiato personalmente le composizioni del periodo barocco francese. Ci sono due pezzi onomatopeici di Jean-Philippe Rameau con i titoli <em>Il rapporto degli oiseaux<\/em> e <em>La poule<\/em>e l'umorismo <em>Le Tic-Toc- Choc<\/em> di Fran\u00e7ois Couperin.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>O'Brien incornicia tutti questi tesori con i due pezzi pi\u00f9 importanti e pi\u00f9 conosciuti: la <em>Improvviso-capriccio<\/em> op. 9 di Gabriel Piern\u00e9 (1863-1937) e l'Impromptu in re bemolle maggiore op. 86 di Gabriel Faur\u00e9 (1845-1924).
