Il pi\u00f9 famoso, <em>12<sup>th<\/sup> Straccio di strada<\/em>\u00e8 stato scritto da Euday Bowman (1886-1949), discendente di una famiglia di immigrati tedeschi di nome Baumann, che viveva in Texas. Bowman si guadagnava da vivere soprattutto come pianista in bar e locali notturni. Il <em>12<sup>th<\/sup> Straccio di strada<\/em> \u00e8 stata di gran lunga la sua composizione di maggior successo ed \u00e8 stata ripresa da molti gruppi e musicisti, tra cui Duke Ellington e Louis Armstrong.<\/p>\n<p>La prima parte del brano consiste in un motivo ripetuto di 3 note con cambi ritmici. Nella seconda parte, ci sono molti salti nella parte solista, e la terza parte consiste nuovamente in un motivo di 3 note, questa volta guidato cromaticamente. Il pianoforte esegue un tipico accompagnamento pianistico a passo, ma qui diviso in mano sinistra e mano destra, poich\u00e9 la melodia viene ripresa dal clarinetto.<\/p>\n<p>Per gli altri due pezzi, <em>Straccio in bianco e nero<\/em> e <em>Texas Steer Rag,<\/em> Euday Bowman \u00e8 indicato come compositore anche nella parte del clarinetto. Tuttavia, questi due titoli sono stati scritti da George Botsford (1874-1949), un contemporaneo di Bowman, come correttamente indicato nella parte pianistica.<\/p>\n<p>Il <em>Straccio in bianco e nero<\/em> consiste quasi interamente in interruzioni di accordi di diverse triadi nella melodia. Questo richiede una solida padronanza della tecnica o comunque offre una buona opportunit\u00e0 per esercitarsi con le triadi. Nel frattempo, l'accompagnamento pianistico \u00e8 caratterizzato da divertenti passaggi nei cambi di armonia.<\/p>\n<p><em>Manzo texano<\/em> Infine, combina note cromatiche di testa e di passaggio con salti e ritmi sincopati nella melodia, che richiede anche una certa destrezza e sicurezza ritmica di base nel suonare il clarinetto.
