Il testo chiarisce che le canzoni hanno avuto un ruolo centrale nell'opera delle compositrici romantiche all'interno dell'area culturale di lingua tedesca. A Fanny Hensel, Clara Schumann, Josefine Lang e Johanna Kinkel si aggiungono ora dieci compositrici che, si presume, in precedenza erano poco note al mondo degli specialisti.<\/p>\n<p>Anche la diversit\u00e0 dei testi \u00e8 degna di nota, in quanto le poetesse Wilhelmine von Gersdorf, Anna Ritter, Aline Sello e Friederike Serre spiccano accanto ai pi\u00f9 frequenti poeti Goethe, Heine, Lenau, Geibel e Heyse. La mancanza di dati biografici su Isidore von B\u00fclow, Mary Norris e Julie Wilhelmine von Tschirschky dimostra quanto le informazioni biografiche siano ancora da ricercare.<\/p>\n<p>Maria Behrendt concentra la sua selezione molto speciale sulle canzoni da sera, le canzoni notturne, i sogni, il desiderio e gli stati d'animo notturni, dando un'idea di quanto ci sia ancora da scoprire nelle canzoni delle compositrici del XIX secolo al di fuori di questi temi.<\/p>\n<p>Su un totale di 15 canzoni di altrettante compositrici, le canzoni composte da Maria Arndts, Anna Bochkoltz, Bertha von Brukenthal, Clara Faisst, Fanny Hensel, Marie von Kehler e Mary Norris sono caratterizzate da una maggiore individualit\u00e0 rispetto alle canzoni in versi di Josephine Lang, Aline Sello o Helene Zitelmann.
