Secondo l'Accademia di Scienze e Letteratura di Magonza, questa edizione presenta l'intera opera superstite del compositore epocale, integrata da un catalogo delle opere e delle fonti e da un volume di lettere e documenti.<\/p>\n

Dopo i primi tentativi della Gluck Society di pubblicare un'edizione convalidata dalla critica delle opere di Gluck, nel 1943 Rudolf Gerber inizi\u00f2 i lavori preparatori per una nuova Gluck Complete Edition (GGA) basata su un'ampia ricerca e raccolta di fonti. Con l'adozione della GGA nel programma dell'accademia nel 1978 e l'istituzione del progetto presso l'Accademia di Scienze e Letteratura di Magonza, sono stati assicurati i finanziamenti per il progetto a lungo termine.<\/p>\n

Oltre al centro di Mainz, dal 2011 la GGA ne ha un altro presso l'Istituto di Musicologia dell'Universit\u00e0 Goethe di Francoforte sul Meno. Dal 1966 esiste anche un centro di ricerca Gluck in Austria, che ha sede presso il Dipartimento di Studi di Arte, Musica e Danza dell'Universit\u00e0 Paris Lodron di Salisburgo.<\/p>\n
