Il manoscritto era probabilmente nelle mani della famiglia Petschek di Aussig (Repubblica Ceca) dagli anni Venti. In quanto ebrei, i Petschek furono perseguitati dai nazisti e lasciarono la loro casa nel 1938. I mobili, gli oggetti di valore e la collezione d'arte furono confiscati dalle autorit\u00e0 naziste. Quando nel 1942 le autorit\u00e0 tedesche si occuparono della realizzazione della collezione d'arte, il responsabile della collezione musicale del Museo della Moravia di Brno, chiamato come esperto, riusc\u00ec ad assicurarsi il manoscritto per il museo.<\/p>\n

Dopo la guerra, la famiglia Petschek cerc\u00f2 il manoscritto, inizialmente senza successo. Quando finalmente fu ritrovato, il governo comunista dell'allora Cecoslovacchia rifiut\u00f2 di consegnare l'autografo. Nel 2022 \u00e8 stato restituito ai discendenti Petschek, che hanno accettato di vendere il manoscritto alla Beethoven-Haus alla fine del 2024 e di renderlo nuovamente accessibile in modo permanente al pubblico e ai ricercatori.<\/p>\n

L'acquisto \u00e8 stato reso possibile da una campagna concertata di sostenitori pubblici e privati. Oltre alla Kulturstiftung der L\u00e4nder, hanno partecipato lo Stato della Renania Settentrionale-Vestfalia, la NRW-Stiftung, la Kunststiftung NRW, la Berthold Leibinger-Stiftung, nonch\u00e9 donatori privati impegnati e la Fondazione Beethoven-Haus.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
