Foto: Web<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Tra le tante belle imprese dello scrittore, antropologo, etnomusicologo e artista audiovisivo bernese Thomas Burkhalter, spicca probabilmente la fondazione di Norient. Sotto l'egida di un'\u00e9quipe dislocata in tutto il mondo, questo gruppo di lavoro presenta, tra l'altro, un eccellente sito web con contributi audiovisivi sulle scene musicali urbane e underground di tutto il mondo. Come Burkhalter, anche Daniel Jakob \u00e8 un veterano della scena bernese. Il suo primo gruppo Merfen Orange \u00e8 stato seguito dai pionieri dell'elettronica Filewile, dopodich\u00e9 si \u00e8 dedicato al dub\/reggae e ha lavorato anche con Lee Perry. Ora i due hanno unito le forze a livello creativo. La versione in doppio vinile del loro album di debutto \u00e8 una festa per gli occhi, che segnala in modo sintetico che non siamo di fronte a un progetto da museo etnografico. Burkhalter e Jakob sono responsabili della musica e di alcuni testi. Cantanti ospiti come Joy Frempong, Christophe Jaquet di Losanna e il veterano del Bhangra Balbir Bhujhangy di Birmingham contribuiscono con le loro parole - altri passaggi del testo sono tratti da interviste condotte da Burkhalter durante i suoi viaggi. Dal punto di vista musicale, il progetto si muove tra ritmi dance incalzanti e melodie vocali poetiche, techno tranciante, suoni ambientali e - punto di forza - la minacciosa intensit\u00e0 percussiva di Young Gods. <em>Pressione da tutti i lati<\/em>. La dimensione globale del progetto \u00e8 solo vagamente riconoscibile nella musica. Le voci, invece, la riflettono forte e chiara. Parlano in parti uguali di sogni, frustrazioni e ispirazione creativa (il keniota Boutross Munene \u00e8 solitamente sopraffatto da tale ispirazione alle quattro del mattino, quando ha bevuto il suo primo caff\u00e8).
