Con due volumi <em>Musica per organo dei primi Tudor <\/em>i curatori John Caldwell (*1938) e Danis Stevens avevano gi\u00e0 reso disponibili le fonti essenziali per l'uso pratico nel 1966 in un'opera pionieristica - principalmente il MS 29996, conservato presso la British Library. A distanza di quasi 60 anni, \u00e8 stata pubblicata una splendida nuova edizione in due volumi di questo repertorio, sempre a cura di Caldwell, che soddisfa i pi\u00f9 recenti standard accademici e lo stato attuale della ricerca sotto ogni aspetto.<\/p>\n<p>Si tratta di musica esclusivamente liturgica, che veniva eseguita in occasione del <em>Uso di Sarum <\/em>forma praticata di canto gregoriano, ma anche con \"faburdens\" polifonici (alcuni dei quali sono stampati in appendice) o movimenti vocali \"composti\" alternati: Versetti per inni, antifone, per il Te Deum o il Magnificat e per l'Ordinario della Messa. Un'ampia prefazione fornisce numerose informazioni sulla prassi esecutiva, sulla costruzione degli organi Tudor, sui compositori (i pi\u00f9 noti, insieme a molti Anonimi, sono probabilmente Thomas Tallis, Thomas Preston e John Redford) e su questioni editoriali e di critica delle fonti.<\/p>\n<p>Gli oltre 100 brani - ciascuno introdotto da dettagliate relazioni critiche, spiegazioni e dettagli dei modelli vocali - offrono uno spaccato di un mondo sonoro che a prima vista appare un po' strano, caratterizzato da un'impostazione rigorosa e da un'affascinante complessit\u00e0 ritmica. Se volete saperne di pi\u00f9 sulla realizzazione tonale, troverete online una serie di nuove registrazioni (anche sui pochi strumenti di questo periodo finora ricostruiti) e di \"rievocazioni\" liturgiche e musicologiche.<em>\" <\/em>servizi di questo periodo, ad esempio nell'ambito del progetto di ricerca \"Experience of Worship\" della Bangor University.<\/p>\n<p>Conclusione: Chiunque desideri studiare a fondo questo repertorio in gran parte sconosciuto trover\u00e0 qui una pubblicazione che soddisfa gli standard pi\u00f9 elevati e il cui prezzo elevato \u00e8 giustificato dalla
