Foto: Terry Clinton\/flickr commons<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div class=\"text-section\">\n<p>Esistono pubblicazioni di ogni tipo sul violino, sul flauto e sul corno, e la letteratura dedicata al pianoforte \u00e8 varia. Nel mondo di lingua tedesca, tuttavia, non esiste una monografia sul pommer e sullo shawm, i precursori dell'oboe barocco. Barbara Neumeier ha colmato questa lacuna con la sua dissertazione, dando cos\u00ec un contributo di tutto rispetto all'organologia.<\/p>\n<p>Per adempiere al suo compito, l'autrice ha inizialmente raccolto tutte le fonti dirette e indirette disponibili in un'ampia raccolta di materiale. La collezione di circa cinquanta strumenti di Pomerania nei musei europei, compresa la collezione di strumenti musicali antichi di Berlino con i magnifici set di Pomerania, strumenti a doppia ancia di diverse lunghezze, provenienti dalla Chiesa di San Venceslao a Naumburg e dalla Chiesa di Santa Maria a Danzica, \u00e8 impressionante ed \u00e8 elencata in forma tabellare alle pagine 32-37.<\/p>\n<p>Tra le fonti ausiliarie, Barbara Neumeier cita gli scritti di teoria musicale di Sebastian Virdung, Martin Agricola, Michael Praetorius e Marin Mersenne del XVI e XVII secolo, libri che invariabilmente fanno riferimento nelle illustrazioni alla differenza tra lo shawm con i fori per le dita nude e il pommer con la chiave protetta da una fontanella. I database ormai consolidati di fonti di immagini relative alla musica - Euterpe a Parigi e RIdIM (R\u00e9pertoire International d'Iconographie Musicale) - hanno indubbiamente facilitato la ricerca di immagini di questi primi strumenti per oboe da parte dell'organologo, come suggeriscono le belle e istruttive illustrazioni.<\/p>\n<p>Tuttavia, la testimonianza letteraria di Chr\u00e9tien de Troyes <em>Erec e Enide <\/em>(1170) al libro di Johann Wolfgang Goethe <em>Finzione e verit\u00e0<\/em> dell'inizio del XIX secolo. Descrivendo la storica corte di zampognari di Francoforte sul Meno, Goethe menziona \"tre zampognari, uno dei quali suona un vecchio shawm, l'altro un basso, il terzo un pommer o un hoboe\", quando questi strumenti a fiato avevano gi\u00e0 lasciato il posto al moderno oboe.<\/p>\n<p>Barbara Neumeier ha certamente raggiunto l'obiettivo di mettere al centro uno strumento a fiato storico e di presentare il pommer come parte di alcuni ensemble e forme di strumentazione nelle pipe band cittadine e nelle bande di corte con un volume completo di oltre 400 pagine.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text-section\">\n<dl class=\"picture media photo\">\n<dt><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"media photo aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.musikzeitung.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/REZ_res_klassik_b_Pommer.jpg\" alt=\"Image \" \/><\/dt>\n<\/dl>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text-section\">\n<p><em>Barbara Neumeier, Il Pommer.
