Come contro-concetto all'opera e al suo pesante carattere estetico, \u00e8 inconcepibile senza di essa - da un'ornamentazione di piccolo formato della notazione a una cadenza supplementare da concerto a una composizione di grande formato.<\/p>\n<p>Chiunque sia alla ricerca di spunti per ulteriori riflessioni sar\u00e0 quindi lieto di fare riferimento a questo documento <em>Volume Oltre le note. L'improvvisazione nella musica occidentale dei secoli XVIII e XIX<\/em> Non si tratta per\u00f2 di un manuale, come potrebbe suggerire il titolo. Il volume \u00e8 piuttosto un normale resoconto di un convegno (La Spezia, 2010) che raccoglie un totale di 20 contributi - e quindi non pi\u00f9 di altrettanti singoli aspetti, che a volte si completano ai margini, ma che rivelano dolorose lacune anche nella visione d'insieme. Il curatore ne \u00e8 consapevole e non cerca di nasconderlo nella prefazione. Ci\u00f2 rende ancora pi\u00f9 decisiva la qualit\u00e0 quasi costantemente elevata degli articoli pubblicati in inglese o in italiano, anche se si sarebbe voluto vedere meno dettagli negli argomenti trattati, ma invece una visione d'insieme, come \u00e8 riuscito a fare Martin Kaltenecker (The Fantasy-Principle) nell'introduzione.<\/p>\n<p>I singoli aspetti, che spaziano dalla musica portoghese per chitarra a cinque corde, al violino di Tartini, B\u00e9riot e Paganini, alle abilit\u00e0 tastieristiche di un Hummel e di una Clara Wieck, fino al canto di brani di Rossini e Donizetti, danno l'impressione di una materia difficile da sistematizzare. In ogni caso, i titoli che organizzano l'indice forniscono un orientamento - e rivelano le relative lacune: Il solo campo della musica per organo, che difficilmente pu\u00f2 essere indagato attraverso tutti i secoli e gli stili, \u00e8 rappresentato da un testo di sole cinque pagine e mezzo (su Louis Vierne). In definitiva, il volume \u00e8 destinato solo agli specialisti, ma si spera che possa trovare posto in molte biblioteche.
