Foto: Elizabeth Delage<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div class=\"text-section\">\n<p>Edition Wallhall ha posto una pietra miliare editoriale con l'edizione critica di tutti i 27 concerti per violoncello di Antonio Vivaldi. Ora l'editore sorprende con l'edizione completa delle 35 sonate per violoncello superstiti di Giuseppe Clemente Dall'Abaco. L'edizione \u00e8 stata preparata dalla violoncellista canadese Elinor Frey, specialista di musica del XVII e XVIII secolo.<\/p>\n<p>Il violoncellista Dall'Abaco nacque a Bruxelles nel 1710, lo stesso anno di Wilhelm Friedemann Bach, e mor\u00ec nel 1805, l'anno in cui mor\u00ec Luigi Boccherini, all'et\u00e0 di 95 anni ad Arbizzano di Valpolicella, in provincia di Verona. Dall'Abaco soggiorn\u00f2 a Londra nel 1736-37. Questo spiega perch\u00e9 l'ampia collezione \u00e8 conservata presso la British Library.<\/p>\n<p>Le sonate in stile barocco sono caratterizzate da melodie cantabili, alcune delle quali hanno un carattere folkloristico. La tavolozza tecnica \u00e8 ricca: passaggi vocali fino al do3, doppi stop (con frequenti stop 4-3 usando il pollice), sequenze di arpeggio virtuose e batterie. A volte, il compositore sperimenta lo stile galante emergente dell'epoca.<\/p>\n<p>L'ampia prefazione fornisce informazioni sulla vita di Dall'Abaco, sui suoi campi di attivit\u00e0 e sul suo ambiente culturale. Un fatto curioso: fornisce anche informazioni su numerosi prestiti contemporanei dalle sue opere. Il violoncellista francese Martin Berteau (1708-1771), ad esempio, utilizz\u00f2 quattro movimenti presi in prestito dalle sonate di Dall'Abaco nelle sue sei sonate per violoncello op. 1, molto suonate. E la sonata in sol maggiore attribuita a Giovanni Battista Sammartini - probabilmente per un errore dell'editore britannico A. Moffat - era originariamente scritta da Dall'Abaco.<\/p>\n<p>Un piccolo inconveniente: l'edizione non contiene una parte di continuo sospeso. Ci\u00f2 potrebbe rendere pi\u00f9 difficile l'utilizzo di questa raccolta ricca e pedagogicamente preziosa soprattutto per i musicisti dilettanti.
