Tom\u00e1s non era solo un chitarrista e un insegnante di talento, ma anche un diligente arrangiatore di musica rinascimentale, barocca e di altro genere. Pedro Jes\u00fas G\u00f3mez, come Russell ex allievo di Tom\u00e1s, ha ora pubblicato una raccolta accuratamente compilata di trascrizioni del maestro iberico con le Editions Chanterelle.<\/p>\n<p>La prima parte \u00e8 dedicata alla musica per liuto del XVI e XVII secolo, con John Dowland in particolare. Con Couperin e Purcell si passa poi al clavicembalo, con la suite in mi minore BWV 996 di Bach al leggendario pianoforte per liuto, che viene suonato sulle corde della chitarra. Da Haydn al XX secolo, vengono arrangiate musiche per pianoforte di \"classici\" del repertorio chitarristico come Alb\u00e9niz e Granados, ma anche di altri grandi del (tardo) Romanticismo come Tchaikovsky e Ravel.<\/p>\n<p>Tom\u00e1s suonava principalmente con una chitarra Ramirez a otto corde costruita appositamente per lui, con la quale poteva anche suonare le note basse di un liuto policorale rinascimentale o barocco. Anche i suoi arrangiamenti erano adattati a questo strumento. L'editore G\u00f3mez documenta meticolosamente le deviazioni dai manoscritti di Tom\u00e1s. Nella maggior parte dei brani, una corda \u00e8 riaccordata (fa diesis invece di sol, re invece di mi, persino sol invece di la). Non ci sono praticamente lacune nelle diteggiature. Il commento \u00e8 in inglese e spagnolo.
