Certo, la letteratura violoncellistica comprende il profondo Concerto in la minore di Robert Schumann. Ma contiene anche un \"gioiello del cuore\", come Joseph Joachim descrisse il Concerto per violino in mi minore di Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy nel 1906?<\/p>\n<p>Almeno il Concerto per violoncello n. 1 in re minore op. 193 (1874) di Joachim Raff colma parzialmente questa presunta lacuna. L'opera 64 di Mendelssohn ne \u00e8 stata chiaramente l'ispirazione. L'ingresso appassionato dello strumento solista dopo due battute di introduzione orchestrale all'inizio, la brillante cadenza alla fine del primo movimento, la fluida transizione nel secondo movimento, anch'esso in metro 6\/8, il vivace tema del rond\u00f2 del terzo movimento: sono tutti elementi in cui il grande modello si riflette in modo udibile. Nel terzo movimento, Raff aggiunge il tema perennemente preferito di Paganini <em>Moto perpetuo<\/em> op. 11.<\/p>\n<p>Le recensioni contemporanee furono prevalentemente positive. Tuttavia, nel XX secolo, la vicinanza di quest'opera al Concerto per violino di Mendelssohn \u00e8 stata talvolta criticata come poco originale. A torto!
