(Immagine: Pubblico dominio)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Tim Eipert, che sta svolgendo il suo dottorato sotto la guida di Fabian Moss, professore junior di filologia della musica digitale e teoria musicale presso la Julius-Maximilians-Universit\u00e4t di W\u00fcrzburg (JMU), ha analizzato oltre 4.000 elementi tropi - testi e melodie inseriti nei corali gregoriani - provenienti da 163 manoscritti utilizzando un nuovo modello digitale. Ha suddiviso i tropi in diversi livelli e quattro gruppi principali e ha utilizzato le singole inserzioni all'interno dei corali per formare dei cluster che possono essere visualizzati su una mappa. I manoscritti provengono da aree che comprendono principalmente gli attuali Stati di Francia, Germania, Svizzera, Austria, Italia e il sud della Gran Bretagna.<\/p>\n<p>Si \u00e8 scoperto che la diffusione dei cluster era fortemente limitata dai confini politici dell'epoca dopo il Trattato di Verdun. A quanto pare, all'epoca c'erano pochi scambi culturali sui corali al di l\u00e0 dei confini imperiali, spiega Eipert. La tradizione musicale riflette quindi la frammentazione politica dell'Europa.<\/p>\n<p>Eipert ha gi\u00e0 integrato il modello in un corso universitario: Lo studente della JMU Jason Ackermann, ad esempio, lo ha utilizzato per analizzare i commenti ai video di Taylor Swift e dei Radiohead su YouTube e identificare i superfan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pubblicazione originale:<\/strong><br \/>\nEipert, T. e Moss, F.C.
